Brad Kerwin, Ed.D.

Chief Executive Officer, Master Magician

Dr. Kerwin is an educator and consultant who has worked at Punahou School and over fifty other schools, colleges, and businesses in Hawaii over the past 40 years. After arriving here in the islands from UCLA in 1972, he began developing and directing educational programs starting in 1975, working in areas such as School Accreditation, Staff Development, Test Preparation, General Tutoring, Speed Reading, Parent Workshops, and more. An award winning student and instructor at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa and an administrator, teacher, and consultant at Punahou School for over twenty years, Dr. Kerwin and his staff at The Honolulu Magic Company bring their considerable talent and background to schools, institutions, families, and businesses as teachers, performers, program developers, and consultants, for students from Kindergarten through Medical School.

Mycah Muranaka

Magic Program Director, Master Magician

Mycah has been with The Honolulu Magic Company since 2017, when he worked as a T.A. for the summer magic program at Punahou School. Since then, he has become an essential member of the team. Mycah can often be found leading HMC magic programs, community service events, and performances. Mycah has been practicing and performing magic for seven years and specializes in card handling. In 2020, Mycah became President of the Hawaii Chapter of the Society of American Magicians (S.A.M.). Outside of work, Mycah enjoys playing video games and spends time with other magicians in order to extend his knowledge and understanding of the art form that is magic.

Matthew Singer, M.A.

Magic Consultant, Master Magician

Matthew has been with The Honolulu Magic Company since 2022. He is an experienced educator and magician on the Island of Kauai. Matthew was one of the youngest members of the Magic Castle Junior Program in Hollywood, California, where he was admitted at age 12. He currently organizes programming and teaches magic courses for HMC.

Cari Knowles

Chief Operating Officer

Cari began aiding Dr. Kerwin and The Reading Company as an Administrative Assistant in 2016. Since completing her BAs in Psychology and German Language at UH Mānoa, she has come to focus exclusively on growing the company's reach and accessibility for all families. She loves being around the positivity and joy that our students bring to the programs. Cari hopes to pursue an MA in Public Health and is passionate about improving Hawaii’s resources for comprehensive family planning. In her free time, she enjoys playing the flute and practicing German.
